What is Metaverse?

Metaverse is a virtual world that seems to be like a real world. It has places, people, objects as if it exists in a real world but it’s virtual. In this virtual world people experiences different things that they may or may not experience in real world. This is very unique concept and idea that includes situations based on real world and making it very interesting with virtual twists.

History of metaverse:-

Metaverse might be the recent topic of discussion but it’s a concept is not so new. Metaverse originated in the year 1992 in the science fiction novel Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. Neal Stephenson used humans as programmable avatars interaction with each other and software agents in a three dimensional virtual space that uses the metaphors of real world.

Architecture of Metaverse:

Metaverse architecture creates spaces where the real and the virtual world become one. The architecture of metaverse is not limited. Metaverse is a different virtual world where virtual reality is mixed with argumental reality along with high speed internet that is 5G for continuous data transfer. Metaverse is a world where personal data sharing is going to rapidly increase. When most of personal information is online then the data theft also increases rapidly, to control data theft and to secure data the concept of Block chains are also used for designing metaverse.

Metaverse Applications:

The technology like metaverse is built basically to revolutionize different industries. Metaverse is going to help medical industry with better surgical assistive tools supported by technology to help surgeons in various surgical procedures.
Metaverse is going to help real estate agents by offering immersive virtual tours of properties to buyers.
Use of technology in Education sector is going to remove the education barriers. It is going to make the education more interactive and fun increasing the student interest in learning.
Application of metaverse is not limited to only few industries. Metaverse is going to be a major part of each and every industry from manufacturing to marketing.

Metaverse and digital identity:

Identity is most important part of real world. Evryone has their own identity and that’s how they are known. The same concept is required when you are creating a different virtual world, in that virtual world also you need your own identity, it is that information that exists on the internet about each user and is built through their movement on the internet. It is important to allow people to migrate freely between different virtual worlds that hold different virtual characteristics, culture and rules. But if the user is not the supreme controller of their own data and if one organisation is controlling all the data then there is big chance of data theft and this also leads to identity theft.

Challenges and limitations of metaverse:

Metaverse is a very advanced technology which is beyond real world but there are many challenges ahead in order to make it most successful concepts of all time. There is the challenge of ensuring that the metaverse is accessible to everyone. The experience can be addicting and may cause people to lose touch with reality.The Metaverse is having a profound effect on society. It is changing the way we interact with each other and the world around us.
